The short version. We collect as little as we can. We never sell your information or use it for advertising, and there are no advertising trackers on this website. Please don't share clinical details through the website. We'll talk about what's bringing you in once we're in touch.
Who we are
FOCUS Psychology & Wellness Collective ("FOCUS," "we," "us") is a Florida-based therapy and wellness practice. This policy explains what happens to information when you visit focuspsychology.org, fill in our consult form, or sign up for our newsletter.
This policy covers the website only. Once you become a client, your clinical information is protected under Florida law and the professional confidentiality duties of our clinicians. Your therapist will explain how your records are handled and the limits of confidentiality at the start of care.
What we collect when you request a consult
Our consult form asks for:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (optional)
- Whether you're located in Florida
- Which provider you'd like to see, if you have a preference (optional)
We use this only to contact you about scheduling a free consult. The form does not ask about symptoms or conditions, and we ask that you don't include any.
What we collect when you sign up for the newsletter
If you subscribe to The Focus, we collect your email address and use it only to send you the newsletter. You can ask us to remove you at any time by emailing us.
What happens automatically when you visit
Like every website, ours receives some technical information when your browser loads a page, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page requested. We use this only to keep the site running, secure, and to understand overall visit counts.
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you. We see totals, such as how many people visited a page, not who they were.
We don't use advertising pixels, retargeting, or social media trackers of any kind.
Who else handles your information
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the website. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:
- Cloudflare hosts and protects the website and provides our visit counts.
- FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) receives what you type into the consult and newsletter forms and forwards it to our email inbox.
- Google provides our email inbox, where form submissions arrive, and supplies the fonts used on this site.
- Unsplash and Squarespace host some of the images on this site. When an image loads, these services receive your IP address and browser information, and the name of our website, but not which page you're reading.
We don't sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't share it with anyone for marketing. We would only disclose it if required by law.
How long we keep it
If you request a consult and don't become a client, we delete your request within 90 days. If you become a client, your contact details become part of your client record, which we keep as required by Florida law. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you from the website, to correct it, or to delete it. Email contactfocuspsych@gmail.com or call 786-505-5941 and we'll take care of it.
Security
The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, which is one more reason we ask that you keep clinical details out of the website forms.
Children
This website isn't directed at children under 13. We work with teens in therapy with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and those arrangements are made directly, not through the website.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
